Cooler Master Notepal U2 Notebook Cooler with Two Fans R9-NBC-8PBK-GP

NotePal U2 is a simple stand that elevates your notebook to a comfortable viewing angle for better posture. The aluminum meshed design ensures that heat dissipates quickly to prevent your notebook from overheating. Its slim and lightweight feature gives you the absolute convenience to take anywhere, easy stow away, and protection. Two optional 80 mm fans will allow you to cool the necessary areas generating the most heat.

This cooler is pretty amazing. I repositioned the two fans right over my laptop hard drive and CPU where my laptop is the hottest and they actually keep them pretty cool. All other laptop fans that I have seen have a central fan, leaving the right side of my laptop where my hard drive is really hot. My hard drive died recently and I think the overheating (I use my laptop over 8h/day) was a major factor. Now, instead of it being about 53 degrees Celsius (127 F) without a fan, it stays around 36 degrees Celsius (97 F)! Much better.

I like that it also raises the back of my laptop. The only problem I have is that you can't use it to store and carry your laptop as intended unless you remove the two fans, at least with my laptop. Much thinner ones may fare better. I just don't have the time to remove the fans, rearrange everything to put the laptop into the slot, and then put them into my backpack in such a way that the disconnected fans aren't damaged every time I need to move my laptop. Reassembling from there is also a pain. So I don't use that extra "protection and storage" feature and just keep the fans attached and my laptop on top of the frame, even in my backpack.

Aside from that, this laptop fan works great. I can barely hear it, it is made of sturdy material and doesn't slide, it fits great (about the same size as my 15.4" laptop), and the underside of my laptop feels only slightly warm after being on all day with the fan beneath it. Even without connecting the fans, it does a decent job cooling. I definitely recommend it.

The seller described in the product details the item well. The only complaint I have, which I am just going to swap it for the one i am borrowing, is that it will interfere with ham equipment. My dad is a Ham op and he says it almost doubled the interference on his ham radio. The one I am borrowing does not. If you dont mind some RF interference then grab this cheap replacement, otherwise you will need to fork out some extra $$$ for the HA65NS2-00. If you do need the HA65 make sure its RevA01 and Family PA-12. Also buy the same voltage for your laptop as it requires. More or less voltage will only keep laptop on without charging. I upgraded to the 95 voltage model and it would not charge my batteries.
This did the trick just fine for me, but the interference problem. Also its safe around AM/FM radios and those freqs

Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (MC531ZM/A)

With the iPad Camera Connection Kit, it's incredibly easy to download photos from your digital camera to your iPad so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends. The kit includes two connectors, each with a different interface: The Camera Connector features a USB interface. Just plug it into the dock connector port on your iPad, then attach your digital camera or iPhone using a USB cable (not included). Use the SD Card Reader to import photos directly from your camera's SD card. Connect it to your iPad, then insert your digital camera's SD card into the slot. After you make the connection, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which pictures to import, then organizes the selected photos into albums. When you sync iPad to your PC or Mac, the photos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library. iPad and the Camera Connection Kit support standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW.

The first thing that came to mind with the iPad was "perfect photo device!" so a big selling point of it was the ability to download my photos to the iPad on-location, edit them and upload them - something I usually can't do while out taking photos or on vacation.

In order to do that, you need the iPad Camera Kit (a currently very-hard-to-find item (I waited 4 weeks to receive mine as all the local stores sold out instantly after receiving shipments).

Right off the bat, I love that they give you 2 adapters (1 for SD cards, 1 for USB). I had no use for the SD adapter as all my cameras are compact flash. I would have happily bought a separate CF card reader if one were available, but no luck on that. If your camera uses something other than SD, you need to "tether" it to the iPad (meaning you plug the USB piece from the camera kit into the iPads dock port, plug your USB cable from your camera into your camera and the other end into the USB piece on the iPad). Not the most convenient method, especially when on-the-go, but its workable.

Plugging in my camera (a Canon 40D), the previews started to appear on the iPad. It took 36 seconds to load the first 35 previews (this is using a short USB cable and a high speed CF card (30MB/Sec). A big downside here is that you cant view the photos larger than a thumbnail without importing them, going to your photo albums, finding the folder it went to and then scrolling to find it. Importing photos (10MP RAW Files) took 6 seconds each. After importing you get the option to "Keep" or "Delete" them from the camera - this is a bit scary as if you're click-happy on the popup, you can end up deleting the photos from your camera (not a huge deal as theyre on the iPad, but definitely a bit of a scare). You can either select individual photos or choose to import everything from the card.

Imported photos go into a new folder in you Photos app - "All Imported" - it also creates a secondary folder: "Last Import" - I would have really liked a way to create a specific folder for each import rather than lumping it all into 1 folder.

The USB adapter is a bit picky as far as what it will accept, I hear some USB Card Readers will work with it (eliminating the need to tether your camera), but it's all a matter of trial and error. USB Keyboards work (again, not all - ones with USB ports on them will not work). You can also not import video files if you have something like a Flip HD camera. This was disappointing as the iPad would make a GREAT video playback screen (especially 720p video like the flip) - especially compared to the 1" screen most of these cameras have.

A big plus to apple for including RAW support on imports (instead of just JPEG).

With the many photo editing apps out there, you can easily take some photos on your camera, import them into the iPad, edit them however you'd like and upload them your photo sharing sites from just about anywhere. For that, it's worth it. It has all sorts of problems (no CF, requires tethering, slow import, no video, etc..) but it's the only option you have, and for that I have to recommend it.

Apple Magic Trackpad

The new Magic Trackpad is the first Multi-Touch trackpad designed to work with your Mac desktop computer. It uses the same Multi-Touch technology you love on the MacBook Pro. And it supports a full set of gestures, giving you a whole new way to control and interact with what’s on your screen. Swiping through pages online feels just like flipping through pages in a book or magazine. And inertial scrolling makes moving up and down a page more natural than ever. Magic Trackpad connects to your Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology. Use it in place of a mouse or in conjunction with one.

I have a strong preference for touchpads over mice so I was pretty delighted upon hearing about this being released by Apple. I have another touchpad made by Adesso that I use with desktops, but it is wired and not nearly as nice or large as the Apple one.

This trackpad works exactly like the built-in one on the macbook pro. It's slim and very elegant looking. There is no lag like you get with wireless optical mice. The glass surface, however, has a bit of 'texture' to it unlike the macbook's trackpad which is shiny. It's almost like a matte finish to it which is ok as a perfectly shiny glass surface can stick a bit if your fingers are a little sweaty. (But if your fingers are dry, the shiny feels a little better :)

It's well constructed and seems sturdy. The top part that holds the battery feels cool like aluminum though I'm not sure if it is. But it's not cheap plastic. It has a nice solid feel and I'm extremely happy with it. I visited the local Apple store to try it out before buying, but they did not have it in yet. But I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it from Apple because it's exactly what I wanted. I will never use another mouse again!

When you get it, make sure that you update your OS software to get the trackpad drivers. It will work without the update but you won't be able to adjust it and features will be missing. You might have your computer on auto update in which case you don't need to worry about this. But if you're a weirdo like me and prefer to manually update, then keep this in mind. When the batteries die, I'll update this review to give a sense of how long the batteries last.

HP TouchPad Wireless Keyboard (FB344AA#AC3)

Use this HP Wireless Keyboard with your HP TouchPad to type long emails and messages more easily. Built-in Bluetooth lets you connect this ultra-compact wireless keyboard to your HP tablet without a USB receiver. You can also take this keyboard on the go. It weighs less than 1 pound and is less than 1 inch slim, so it fits into your computer bag effortlessly. With the full pitch design, the keys have plenty of space between them for comfortable typing. Plus, get the most out of your AA batteries with this HP Wireless Keyboard, which powers down when not in use or when the keyboard is out of Bluetooth wireless range. The estimated battery life is seven months.

This is a decently functioning keyboard with WebOS specific keys. Additional functionality would be nice, but can be added to WebOS in the future.

The keyboard is pretty good for a thin "chiclet" style. The keys have more throw than I expected (a good thing).

Two issues that are just bad product design. Neither detract too much for the keyboard, but should be addressed in further revs.

1 - It would be simple to put an arrow on the battery door. Currently there is no hint as to how to put in the batteries without reading the instructions. That is fine. What happens in 6 months when the batteries die and you don't have the instructions? This is a simple thing that would have made the instant experience better and eliminate annoyances in the future.

2 - The power button has a very subtle difference as to on and off. Only visible in good lighting. Again, a 1/0 addition to the battery cover could help this, but it is another usability fail. A product should be usable without reading anything, when it is this simple.

The keyboard connects rapidly when turning on and works well. Other than the few design misses, it is a solid keyboard.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter for MOTOROLA XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging)

Enables you to power up and charge on the go. In the Box: Car Charger, Quick Start Guide CHARGE UP AND HIT THE ROAD. Take your MOTOROLA XOOM on your next adventure

Because of Motorola, you need to invest in this.

When Motorola invented the Xoom, they did so with a power plug in mind that was totally non-standard. Even though countless Amazon sellers offer MicroUSB charger and car chargers, this product is the only one that actually works. The cable is long, the plugs on both ends are good quality, and it charges the Xoom at full capacity. The price goes up and down a lot, so if you find it for around $15, you get a good deal. Anything over $25 is just overpriced. But sadly, you don't have many other options.
